Chinese Calligraphy
Origin and Evolution of Chinese Characters: Understanding the origin and development history of Chinese characters, as well as the characteristics and evolutionary relationships of different script styles, laying the foundation for understanding the roots of calligraphy art.
Definition and Characteristics of Calligraphy: Comprehending the connotation of calligraphy as a unique visual art form, as well as its characteristics in terms of lines, structure, and composition.
Brushwork (Bifa): Learning the writing methods of various basic strokes, including the techniques of starting, moving, and ending the brushstroke. Understanding the variations in brush pressure, speed, and the shades of ink from thick to thin and wet to dry.
Character Structure (Zifa): Learning the structural rules of Chinese characters, including the combination of radicals, the correspondence of strokes, spacing and density, balance and stability, mastering the basic principles of character construction.
Writing Tools and Materials: Recognizing and understanding the performance and selection of the “Four Treasures of the Study” (brush, ink, paper, inkstone), as well as their maintenance and usage methods.

English Volunteer Program
English is an essential skill for Chinese immigrants living in Canada.To support this, we plan to offer free English tutoring courses.
Through the guidance of volunteer instructors, students will overcome their struggles with spoken English, confidently handle various everyday situations, and Increase self-onfidence where both volunteer instructors and adult learners improve their English and Chinese together.
