June 22-Learn to fish with the boy “A fishing rod catches a warm father-son relationship!”

June 22 – Learn to fish with a teenager “One fishing rod, catch a warm father-son relationship!” Learn to fish with a teenager FISHING WORKSHOP: Fishing skills × Full fun × Safety tips, children influencing children is the best persuasive force! This summer, throw away electronic games and have outdoor fun! It’s “Father’s Day” again! Happy holidays to all the fathers in the world, you have worked hard! Compared with mothers, fathers always seem to be very low-key, silently contributing to the family and children – whether it is accompanying children to do homework, or squatting in the garage to repair bicycles… Active fathers will take their children to play football, swim, and ski. Supporting the child’s little arm when skating, quietly protecting him not far away when swimming, and always reminding him to “be careful of cars” when riding a bicycle, in one sentence: “I am always by your side.”

Living in Canada with beautiful natural scenery, the most parent-child activity is fishing! It can be said that this is the family activity that almost all first-generation immigrant “moms and dads” like to try to participate in after arriving in Canada, and then take their children together: One morning, just after dawn, my father and I had already carried fishing gear, brought snacks, and packed bait, and set off for Shilili Creek. The surroundings were still asleep, only us. When we arrived at the creek, the mist floated gently on the water, as if the lake was still napping. Slowly, the sun sprinkled on the water. The father and son sat by the creek, chatting while taking out the hook, hanging the bait, and throwing the fishing line. Sometimes the line was knotted, we did not blame, but untied it together and started again. While fishing, we talked about some small things in life, and sometimes we simply said nothing, just listened to the wind blowing through the grass and watched the water surface quietly rippling. Occasionally, a fish bit the hook, and we were immediately excited like a child fishing for the first time! Are you excited? One fishing rod after another, it is not only the fish in the water that are connected, but also the family affection between parents and children, and the tacit understanding between us and our companions! Let’s cultivate new interests with the children, go out of the house, get close to nature, and go fishing with the teenagers! Come and participate in the “FISHING WORSHOP” organized by the Ignite Spirit charity organization – three 13 and 14-year-old boys from Oakville who love fishing and studying water environment ecology, they tell the story of “fishing” with enthusiasm and absolute professional knowledge! Click on the video below to see the highlights!

Baichen Wang, 13 years old, is currently studying in the seventh grade of Heritage Glen Public School. His English name is Edward. He started fishing in 2020 and fell in love with it all of a sudden, and he couldn’t stop. He is not only familiar with the laws and regulations related to fishing, but also a master in studying fishing techniques. He is most keen on lure and fly fishing, because these two fishing methods are more active and challenging, and require constant movement, trying, observing and thinking. Edward not only fishes in various lakes in Ontario, but also participates in different fishing competitions: he won the first prize in the 21st Kids’ Fish Art Contest held by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forest in 2024, and the second prize in the Ice fishing Derby held by Islandlake Conservation in 2025. Edward — The second fishing enthusiast, 14 years old, started fishing two years ago. His interest stems from his curiosity and exploration of observing and protecting natural aquatic ecology. In addition to various waters in the Greater Toronto Area, Edward is particularly familiar with Sixteen Mile Creek, Blount Creek and its harbor area. He is a recognized “fishing spot hunter” in the team, who can always find excellent fishing spots and is the “navigator” in everyone’s fishing journey. Ricky Long, the third member of WORKSHOP and the producer of the video above, is 14 years old. He loves nature and is not only a fishing enthusiast, but also loves music, focusing on jazz piano and electronic music production. Among the three friends, Ricky is recognized as a video production expert. Every time he goes out fishing, he likes to use videos to record the fun of fishing and the beauty of nature. In his own words: “Music, like nature, is free and real, and it is also the source of my inspiration!”
