Ignite Spirit Global Culture Association hosted 10 youth-led workshops from July 2025 to July 2026 in Oakville, giving youth opportunities to explore their interests while building leadership skills.
The initiative aims to empower young people in the local community. It provides a platform for Oakville youth to host workshops and express their ideas. The event included both indoor and outdoor workshops. Participants can learn practical skills such as fishing and mountain biking techniques. According to Ignite Spirit’s record, over 200 people have participated in the program. A survey showed that 95 percent of participants were interested in joining future workshops.
“Youth on Fire Program is all about youth. It lets young people explore topics that are not commonly offered in public schools,” said Shelly Wu, founder and board chair of the Ignite Spirit Global Culture Association.
“I enjoy demonstrating my interests to others in this open and creative space, and I’ve become more confident,” said Ricky, host of a fishing workshop at Ignite Spirit.
The organization has previously hosted cultural events and volunteer programs to encourage community engagement. The program will continue throughout September.
